Hoe ben ik bij House of HR terechtgekomen?

Op het einde van mijn opleiding als Software Engineer heeft mijn toenmalige docent JavaScript (nu mijn lead developer, Johan) mij gevraagd mee te werken aan een mobiele app. Ik ben toen begonnen als jobstudent, daarna als stagiair om ten slotte vast in dienst te komen bij NOWJOBS.

Hoe ziet het werk eruit?

Als developer bij NOWJOBS wordt er verwacht dat je niet enkel zaken implementeert maar dat je er ook kritisch over nadenkt. Bij de start van een nieuwe feature denken de developers samen met de analist na over mogelijke oplossing alvorens de ontwikkeling begint. Op deze manier worden de teamleden als het ware betrokken bij het volledige proces, van idee tot uitwerking.

Wat brengt de toekomst?

We zijn gestart als een klein team met slechts enkele developers maar dit zal absoluut zo niet blijven. Mobiele applicaties worden een steeds groter en belangrijker stuk van Accent en het is dan ook de bedoeling om verder uit te groeien naar een waar competence center die verschillende mobiele projecten onder de vleugels neemt.

Welke technology stack gebruiken we?

Onze mobiele applicaties worden in Typescript geschreven en gebruiken Angular 4 en Ionic 3. Met behulp van Cordova plugins builden we onze app naar native packages.
Ook server side is onze Node.js server volledig geschreven in Typescript.

You will be involved in daily Scrum meetings, grooming sessions for working out the high level user stories, planning meetings for defining the task breakdowns and retrospective meetings to discuss the past sprint.

As a Mobile Engineer you will play a critical part in The House of HR’s "mobile development team.
Not only, will you be working on one of our most successful apps called Swop. Next to that you will also be challenged by our experienced co-workers on how to drive and realize the digital future of HR together with us in order to make our customers happy and to let our businesses grow even further.

• Bachelor or Master degree in ICT
• Excellent knowledge of Typescript & AngularJS
• Excellent knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 (SASS)
• Good understanding of common mobile engineering practices (design principles, design patterns, git, unit testing, code documentation, ... )
• Experience with Hybrid App development such as Cordova/Ionic is a big plus
• Solid understanding of the full mobile software development life cycle & related toolset such as Xamarin, HockeyApp or even the latest Visual Studio App center is a plus
• Agile development is not a secret for you.
• You speak Dutch fluently and you’re good at English.
• Work base in Ghent but also flexible to come and join us in Roeselare on a regular basis.
